Cantraybridge celebrated their prize giving on Thursday 2nd June. Around 100 guests joined staff and students to celebrate their success in achieving SVQ's and NQ's in all training departments of the College. After the prize giving ceremony everyone enjoyed a buffet lunch before being shown around the College grounds to visit departments and see for themselves the projects that students are currently working on.
Mrs Irene Ross very kindly agreed to present the prizes, and a great time was had by all on one of those rare warm and beautiful sunny days.
Main Awards were as as follows:
- Cantraybridge Student of the Year 2011 – Eilidh Stewart
- Cantray Square Resident of the Year 2011 – Alastair Herd
Special Achievement Awards:
- Alan Rockall - Computing Student of the Year and for no longer requiring support
- Debbie Gibbons - For overcoming her visual difficulties
- Adam Gallacher - For progressing to supported employment
Students achieved the following SQA qualifications:
- 32 students achieved Workplace Core Skills Working with Others
- 2 students achieved Practical Craft Skills
- 2 students achieved Working with Craft Tools – Introduction
- 6 students achieved SVQ Horticulture Level 1 Units
- 5 students achieved SVQ Animal Care Level 1 Units
- 4 students achieved SVQ Animal Care level 2 Units
- 2 students achieved SVQ Horticulture Level 2 Units
